Frequently Asked Questions

What types of injuries and body parts are treated?

We treat the majority of pain/injuries of the muscles, joints, and nerves throughout the body. These include but not limited to, neck, shoulder, back, hip, knee, ankle, and foot. We treat both surgical and non surgical injuries. Contact us for specific injuries, conditions, or diseases.

What should I expect during my first visit?

For orthopedic rehabilitation, the first visit will be the initial evaluation where we will do an examination, take measurements, perform tests, and review current and past medical history to be able to develop and establish a plan of care. If the physical therapist is not able to provide treatment based off of the findings, you will be referred to the appropriate doctor or another health practitioner. Depending on the length of the evaluation, the therapist will dedicate some time for treatment at the end of session. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing.

Please have all paperwork filled out so it does not take away from your timed session.

How long are appointments?

Appointments are 60 minutes long.

How many visits will it take me to get better?

I will start by saying that every patient and diagnosis is different. In general, a patient should start to see improvement in 2-3 visits. Depending on your goals, the total number of visits will differ. Our patient population is very active and motivated to perform their best. Most of our of patients are seen once a week and are given exercises to perform independently. There are some acute or post surgical cases that may need to be seen more often but the typical 3 visits per week is not necessary at TruForm.

Do I need a prescription from a doctor to start?

If you will be seen for Physical Therapy, in Texas we have direct access for 10 days and at TruForm 15 days (because of Board certification). After 15 business days, you will need a prescription from a doctor to continue Physical Therapy. We have multiple relationships with doctors and nurse practitioners in the area we can get you set up with quickly.

Do you take insurance?

We do not have contacts with health insurance companies. We are a cash based service. This enables us to provide the best 1-on-1 quality of care with no restrictions and full transparency. If you have insurance, we can provide you with a "superbill" to provide to your insurance company for reimbursement as an "out of network" provider. We accept cash, check, credit cards, and HSA cards. Full payment is collected at the time of service or up front if you purchase a package.

What if I have Medicare?

As per Medicare regulations, it is illegal for a Physical Therapist to accept cash pay from Medicare patients for services that may be covered under Medicare. This is due to outpatient Physical Therapy services generally being covered under Medicare Part B, provided the service is considered medically necessary to treat a disease or condition. TruForm is not contracted with Medicare and therefore we cannot treat this population for Physical Therapy services.

TruForm can provide Wellness Services for this group. If you are interested, contact us!

Do you offer virtual visits?

Upon request, TruForm can provide telehealth visits.
